Love a slice of toast with breakfast, lunch, or as a snack? The three essentials of delicious toast – the bread, the spread, and the toppings. Dress up your toast with these 4 topping ideas!

Honey Lemon Ricotta with Fresh Blueberries

Recipe: Honey Lemon Ricotta Toast with Fresh Blueberries

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ricotta
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon Meyer lemon zest + extra for sprinkling
  • Fresh blueberries
  • Sliced whole grain bread

Directions:

  1. In a small mixing bowl, stir together ricotta, honey, and ½ teaspoon Meyer lemon zest.
  2. Spread desired amount of ricotta on a slice of toast.
  3. Top with fresh blueberries.
  4. Sprinkle with extra lemon zest.

Note: Store leftover honey lemon ricotta in refrigerator.

Cucumber, Cream Cheese, & Fresh Dill

Recipe: Cucumber & Cream Cheese Toast with Fresh Dill

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, coarsely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Fresh cucumber slices
  • Sliced whole grain bread

Directions:

  1. In a small mixing bowl, stir together cream cheese, chopped fresh dill, and salt.
  2. Smear dill cream cheese on a slice of toast.
  3. Top with fresh cucumber slices.
  4. Sprinkle with extra fresh dill as a garnish.

Note: Store leftover dill cream cheese in refrigerator.

Fig, Goat Cheese, & Orange Zest

Recipe: Fig & Goat Cheese Toast with Orange Zest

Ingredients:

  • Fig spread or preserves
  • Goat cheese
  • Orange zest
  • Sliced whole grain bread

Directions:

  1. Spread goat cheese on a slice of toast.
  2. Smear with fig spread.
  3. Sprinkle with freshly grated orange zest.

Almond Butter, Banana, Honey, & Ground Flax

Recipe: Almond Butter Banana Toast with Ground Flax

Ingredients:

  • Almond butter
  • Banana, sliced
  • Honey
  • Ground flaxseeds
  • Sliced whole grain bread

Directions:

  1. Smear a slice of toast with almond butter.
  2. Top with banana slices.
  3. Drizzle with honey.
  4. Sprinkle with ground flaxseeds.

Note: Peanut butter is a delicious swap for almond butter and a classic on toast!
